Courtney

My name is Courtney and I’m from a small town called Hope, BC but am currently living in Sylvan Lake, AB. I live here with my boyfriend (Kieran), my two bunnies Max and Ruby, and my dog Leroy. I work as a dog groomer. Animals have always been a huge part of my life and bring me an immense amount of happiness.

I’ve struggled with my Mental Health for as long as I can think of but haven’t reached out for help until this past year. Unfortunately my mental health has taken a turn for the worse lately and I’m currently off of work because of it. I was hospitalized about 2 weeks ago for wanting to commit suicide. I’m currently working with a team (my GP, therapist, psychiatrist, crises team and a social worker) to get me back on track and get to the other side of the horrible time. After getting out of the hospital I went to BC to be with my mom and try to recoup myself. I am slowly getting better but I won’t lie, I fight with the thought of suicide every single day.
